A small part of the huge sluice at Uphill, apparently without the sluice the village will flood a couple of times each year when the tides are particularly high.
Makes you wonder why they didn't build a little higher up? ;)

I know what it is and yet I still think it's a meavellous image.
I'd be a little concerned to depend upon such a thing to counteract flooding...but, hey, if it works...
